A lot has happened this first week of school. Things that I would never have guessed. As I look back over this past week, I see how God has been at work. He brought certain friends into my life at the times that I have needed them and they said what I needed to hear at that time. Since making the decision to go home this upcoming week has helped me to somewhat accept what has happened. The faculty here have blessed me tremendously. They all are understanding about my going home and they all are prayer warriors. They have helped me a lot this past week. Something I have been reminded of these past couple of days was that I need to remember the good times, the times he has blessed me, and the times he made me laugh. I need not to dwell on his death but his life. I have the knowledge of knowing that I will see this guy again. That knowing is very important to me without it I do not know what I would do. I cannot comprehend how non-Christians can go through a funeral without that hope. His obituary states: "Jesse was a devoted Christian. His smile and positive attitude touched everyone that knew him." That is exactly how I want to remember him. I also hope that through his death people will come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. He would want that to happen.
On a completely different topic, my classes seem to be ok. (all 8 of them). I think I will have a couple hard ones but most of them seem to be on the easy side as long as I keep up with the homework. I seem to have a lot of reading and papers. But what other kind of homework would you expect for a history major. I am also helping coach looking for recruits to play next year. There are some good prospects. However, since we cannot offer athletic scholarships, they tend to sign with those that can.
